Information You Give Us Directly
When you create an account, subscribe to a plan, or contact us, you may provide:
- Account details: your name and email address
- Billing information: payment card details and billing address — processed securely through our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal). We never store your full card number on our servers.
- Social media access tokens: when you connect your social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest), we receive and store OAuth access tokens that allow us to post on your behalf. We do not store your social media passwords.
- Post content: the text, images, videos, and scheduling information you create and queue within GTR Autopost.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you use our platform, we automatically collect certain technical data, including:
- IP address and approximate location (country/city level)
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform

- Error logs and performance data
This information is used to keep the platform running smoothly, diagnose issues, and understand how people use GTR Autopost so we can improve it.
Information From Third Parties
We may receive limited information from:
- Social media platforms: when you connect your accounts, we receive profile data (such as your name, username, and profile image) that the platform makes available via their API.
- Payment providers: our payment processors (Stripe and PayPal) may share transaction status and fraud-check signals with us to help validate payments.
- Analytics tools: aggregated, anonymised data from analytics tools we use to understand platform usage.
We do not collect sensitive personal information such as racial or ethnic origin, health data, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
2. How Do We Use Your Information?
We use your information only for legitimate purposes, and only where we have a valid legal basis to do so. Here's specifically why we process your data:
| Purpose | Legal Basis |
|---|---|
| Create and manage your account | Contractual necessity |
| Process subscription payments | Contractual necessity |
| Publish posts to your connected social media accounts | Contractual necessity / your explicit consent |

| Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats | Legitimate interest |
| Improve the platform through usage analytics | Legitimate interest |
| Comply with legal obligations (e.g. tax records) | Legal obligation |
We will never use your data for purposes that aren't listed above without first letting you know and, where required, getting your consent.
3. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Information?
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Full stop.
We may share your data in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party companies to help us deliver GTR Autopost. These include our payment processors (Stripe and PayPal), hosting and infrastructure providers, email delivery services, and analytics tools. These providers are contractually bound to only use your data to provide the specific services we've engaged them for.
Social Media Platforms: When you instruct GTR Autopost to publish a post, we send that content to the relevant social media platform's API on your behalf. That platform then handles the content according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Business Transfers: If GTR Autopost is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, your information may be transferred as part of that process. We'll notify you before your data is transferred to a new entity or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Affiliates: We may share data with companies under common ownership with GTR Autopost. Any such entity would be required to honour this policy.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or where we believe it is necessary to protect the rights and safety of our users, our company, or the public.
4. Do We Use Cookies and Tracking Technologies?
Yes — like most web applications, we use cookies and similar technologies. Here's what they do:
- Essential cookies: Keep you logged in and maintain your session. These are required for the platform to function.
- Preference cookies: Remember your settings and display preferences.
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how the platform is being used (e.g. which features are popular). We use anonymised, aggregated data only.
- Security cookies: Help us detect suspicious activity and protect your account.
We do not currently use advertising or retargeting cookies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the platform from working correctly. For more detail, see our Cookie Notice [link if you have one].
5. How Do We Handle Social Media Logins and Connections?
GTR Autopost is built around connecting your social media accounts. Here's how we handle that:
Connecting accounts: When you connect a social media account (e.g. Facebook Page, Instagram Business Account, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest), you authorise GTR Autopost via that platform's OAuth flow. We receive an access token that lets us post on your behalf. We never see or store your social media password.
What we access: The specific data we can access depends on what the social media platform makes available and what permissions you grant. This typically includes your account name, username, profile picture, and the ability to create and schedule posts.
Revoking access: You can disconnect any social account from GTR Autopost at any time from your account settings. You can also revoke access directly from the social media platform's own settings (e.g. Facebook's Apps & Websites section).
Third-party responsibility: We are not responsible for how social media platforms handle your data once content is published. We recommend reviewing each platform's own privacy policy.
6. Is Your Information Transferred Internationally?
GTR Autopost is operated by a UK-registered company. Our primary servers are located in [INSERT SERVER LOCATION, e.g. the United Kingdom / European Union].
Some of our third-party service providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms — to ensure your data is protected to the same standard required under UK GDPR.
7. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
We only keep your data for as long as we genuinely need it:
- Account data: kept for the duration of your subscription and for up to [e.g. 2 years] after account closure, to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting requirements).
- Payment records: retained for 7 years in line with HMRC requirements.
- Social media tokens: deleted promptly when you disconnect an account or close your GTR Autopost account.
- Scheduled post content: retained for the duration of your account. You can delete posts at any time.
- Logs and analytics data: typically anonymised or deleted after [e.g. 12 months].
When we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep your data, we'll securely delete or anonymise it.
8. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
No. GTR Autopost is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from or market to anyone under 18.
If you believe a child under 18 has created an account or shared personal information with us, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete that data promptly.
9. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
Depending on where you live, you have certain rights regarding your personal data. Here's an overview:

- Access the personal data we hold about you

Account Management
You can review and update your account information at any time by logging into your GTR Autopost account. To close your account entirely, contact us at [email protected].
10. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Currently, there is no agreed industry standard for how platforms should respond to DNT signals, and we do not alter our data practices based on them. If a standard is adopted that we are required to follow, we will update this policy accordingly.
11. Do We Update This Policy?
Yes, from time to time. When we make changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes that affect how we use your data, we'll let you know directly — either by email or by displaying a notice in the app.
We encourage you to check back periodically.
